The dial on the left shows the weather settings you have chosen: dry road, rain, snow or ice.

When you click on the icon (in this case, the cloud), you have the posibility to choose a different weather setting.

The main dial shows the lateral acceleration experienced by your car. In other words, the centrifugal force that may cause you to lose traction. Depending on the chosen weather parameter, the graduations on the dial change to match the actual situation.

  • The red zone is the critical zone, where your car will lose traction. It is clear that when the needle reaches this zone, the vehicle skids and you may end up in the ditch.
  • The white area is a risky area. Depending on the wear of your tires and your suspension or other external factors (such as temperature or condition of the road), your vehicle has can potentially skid.

For safety purposes, the dial on the right contains the GPS speed indication. The speed is indicated in km/h or mph, depending on the settings of your iPhone.

Buttons

ON-OFF button toggles the measurement of the risk of skidding. When the detector is switched on, two things happen:

  • The automatic calibration. As the position of the iPhone is specific to each vehicle, it is necessary to activate the sensor when the iPhone is in the socket and the vehicle is stationary and flat.
  •  The selection of weather parameters. The parameters available are sunny weather, rain, snow and ice.

Satellite button toggles the display of the GPS speed. Remember that communication with GPS satellites and uses more battery may reduce battery life of your iPhone if it is not connected to a power source.

Sonic warning button improves your driving experience and allows you to concentrate on the road. Two types of warning sounds are available. Slow beeps indicate that you approach the danger zone, where the loss of traction is possible. Fast beeps indicate that you are approaching the limits of your car and you can lose traction at any moment.
